Cordelia Drexel Biddle was an American writer and philanthropist. She was born in 1898 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a prominent family. She was the daughter of Anthony Joseph Drexel Biddle, Jr., a diplomat and philanthropist, and his wife, Cordelia Drexel Biddle. Cordelia was educated at the prestigious Bryn Mawr College, where she graduated in 1920. After college, she worked as a journalist and wrote for several magazines, including The New Yorker and Harper's Bazaar. In the 1930s, Cordelia became involved in philanthropy, working with her father to establish the Anthony J. Drexel Biddle Foundation, which provided aid to the poor and disadvantaged. She also served on the boards of several charities, including the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. Cordelia was also an author, writing several books, including a biography of her father, Anthony J. Drexel Biddle, Jr., and a novel, The House of Biddle. She also wrote a memoir, My Life in Three Acts. Cordelia Drexel Biddle died in 1984 at the age of 86.
