Dominique Strauss-Kahn is a French economist, lawyer, and politician who served as the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2007 to 2011. He was also a member of the French Socialist Party and was a candidate in the French presidential election of 2012. Strauss-Kahn was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a suburb of Paris, to a Jewish family. He studied economics at the University of Paris X Nanterre and obtained a PhD in economics in 1971. He then worked as a professor at the University of Paris X Nanterre and the University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne. In the late 1970s, Strauss-Kahn began his political career, becoming a member of the French Socialist Party. He was elected to the French National Assembly in 1986 and served as Minister of Economy and Finance from 1997 to 1999. In 2007, he was appointed Managing Director of the IMF and served in that position until 2011. As of 2021, Dominique Strauss-Kahn's net worth is estimated to be $20 million.
